Maryland State Trooper Barracks

Maryland State Troopers have proudly served the citizens of Cecil County since 1921. These dedicated Troopers are commonly referred to as "Marylands Finest" for good reason. Their commitment to duty, professionalism in every circumstance, and service to our state is second to none. They have given so much to this community and some have even paid the ultimate sacrifice. The commitment of these fine men and women makes this community a safer and better place to live. Lanzi Scholarship Awarded

Ms. Sarah Heckman, of Colora, MD, a 2005 graduate of Rising Sun High School, was recently awarded the Lanzi Scholarship at Cecil College.

MTA Lodge XV presents this scholarship annually in memory of TFC Joseph T. Lanzi, who died in the line of duty on October 28, 1995 while proudly serving the citizens of Maryland.

Currently in the nursing program at Cecil College, Ms. Heckman has been attending Cecil College for 2 years.  Her plans include obtaining an Associates Degree in nursing and to pursue a career as a registered nurse.  She would like her future to include working directly with children.  Ms. Heckman has maintained an excellent GPA and, with the assistance of this scholarship, will be able to continue to pursue her very honorable academic goals.
